Conditions of Eligibility

(A) Age Limits : Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than  02nd  July, 1997  and not
later than 1st July, 2000 are eligible.

(B) Educational Qualifications:

1. For  Army  Wing  of  National  Defence  Academy :  12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University. 
2. For  Air  Force  and  Naval  Wings  of  National  Defence  Academy  and  for the  10+2  Cadet  Entry  Scheme  at  the  Indian  Naval  Academy : 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or  a University. 
3. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of  School  Education  or  equivalent  examination  can  also   apply  for  this examination.

3. For Air Force Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1988 and not later than 1st January 1992 only are eligible.
   
4. For Officers' Training Academy - (SSC Course for Men) : Male candidates (Unmarried or Married) born not earlier than 2nd January, 1986 and not later than 1st January 1992 only are eligible.
   
5. For Officers Training Academy - SSC (Women Non- Technical) Course :  (a) Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not remarried, and issueless divercees (in possession of diveorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been not earlier than 2nd January, 1986 and not later than 1st January, 1992.
   

(B) Educational Qualifications:

1. For Indian Millitary Academy and Officers' Training Academy : Degree of a recognised university or equivalent.
   
2. For Naval Academy : B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics ) or Bachelor of Engineering.
   
3. For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognised university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering
   
4. Candidates who are studying in final year Degree Course and yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for the Examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing the Degree Examination or equivalent examination by the specified dates.
   

(C) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (I), 2010 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.

Application form: The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the commission for its examination, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/-.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (I), 2008 on 17th February, 2008 for admission to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy amd Air force Academy for the Cources commencing in January, 2008 and Officers Training academy, Chennai for the cources (Men and Women) commencing in April, 2008.

Conditions of Elgibility

(A) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:

1. For Indian Millitary Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1985 and not later than 1st January 1990 only are eligible.
2. For Naval Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1987 (2nd January, 1985 in case of NCC Naval wing 'C' certificate holders) and not later than 1st January 1990 only are eligible.
3. For Air Force Academy : Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1986 and not later than 1st January 1990 only are eligible.
4. For Officers' Training Academy - (SSC Course for Men) : Male candidates (Unmarried or Married) born not earlier than 2nd January, 1984 and not later than 1st January 1990 only are eligible.
5. For Officers Training Academy - SSC (Women Non- Technical) Course :
   (a) Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not remarried, and issueless divercees (in possession of diveorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been not earlier than 2nd January, 1984 and not later than 1st January, 1990.

(B) Educational Qualifications:

1. For Indian Millitary Academy and Officers' Training Academy : Degree of a recognised university or equivalent.
2. For Naval Academy : B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics ) or Bachelor of Engineering.
3. For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognised university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

(C) Physical Standards: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) (I), 2008 as prescribed in the detailed advertisement.

Application form: The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the commission for its examination, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Ooffices throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/-.

Fee : Rs. 100/- through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of fees. OBC candidates are required to pay full fees.

Airmen Recruitment Group Y trades in Air Force

Indian Air Force (IAF) invites applications from unmarried male candidates for selection test in November 2007 to join as Airman in Group 'Y' trades.

• Qualification : Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate with Science, Arts or Commerce subjects.
• Age : Born between 01 January 1987 and 28 February 1991 (both date inclusive)
• Medical Standards : Height :Minimum acceptable height : 152.5 cm, Chest : Minimum range of expansion : 5 cm, Vision : 6/36 each eye., Correctable with spectacles : at least 6/9 each eye., Diopteric power : not exceeding +3.5
• Training : Initial Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) will be provided at Airmen Training School, Belgaum (Karnataka) for 12 weeks. After it Trade Training will be provided.
• Pay : during training a stipend of Rs.2850/- pm will be paid. On completion of training, starting gross salary will be Rs.6600/- approx.
• Selection Procedure : Written Test : Test will be held during November 2007. Physical Fitness Test (PFT) : those who pass written test will undertake Physical Fitness Test. It consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 8 min., Interview : Those who pass both the written and PFT will be called for interview.
